RESOLUTION CONGRATULATING | ||||
Gregory C. Trindle | ||||
Upon his retirement after 36 years with the San Mateo County Sheriff’s Office | ||||

WHEREAS, Gregory C. Trindle joined the county in September 1972 as a deputy sheriff, and for the next 16 years worked a full range of assignments including patrol, field training, bailiff, Civil Unit, jail transport detail, SWAT and manpower pool; and | ||||
WHEREAS, promoted to sergeant in 1988, Greg first worked as Team 3 supervisor in the North County correctional Facility. However, Greg spent the bulk of his sergeant years as the sheriff’s training manager, which included collaborating with local, regional and statewide agencies; during 1991-1992, Greg was SWAT team leader and president of the San Mateo County Training Managers Association; and | ||||
WHEREAS, earning his lieutenant’s bars in 1995, Greg’s new assignments included administrative lieutenant at the Maguire Correctional Facility, patrol lieutenant and SWAT tactical commander; and | ||||
WHEREAS, as a sheriff’s captain in 2001, Greg assumed command of the Maguire Facility and Detention Division, where he drew deeply from his past experiences in management and training; Greg was appointed Assistant Sheriff in 2004; and | ||||
WHEREAS, Greg holds a bachelor’s degree from California State University, Sacramento, a California Peace Officer Standards and Training management certificate, plus multiple seminars and classes regarding everything from correctional facilities to vehicle noise enforcement to weapons of mass destruction; and | ||||
WHEREAS, over his years of service, Greg has accumulated a tremendous amount of commendations and letters from other agencies as well as members of the public praising him for his professionalism, knowledge and diligence in serving the people of San Mateo County. | ||||
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Supervisors of San Mateo County congratulates Gregory C. Trindle upon his retirement after 36 years of dedicated service with the San Mateo County Sheriff’s Office. The Board hereby extends its gratitude to Greg and his family and adds sincere wishes for many more years of continuous peace, health and happiness. | ||||
