RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE PRESIDENT OF THE BOARD TO EXECUTE AN AMENDMENT TO THE AGREEMENT WITH THE STATE DEPARTMENT OF MENTAL HEALTH FOR MENTAL HEALTH SERVICES ACT FUNDING EXTENDING THE TERM THROUGH JUNE 30, 2009, WITH NO CHANGE TO THE AMOUNT OF $17,760,871

RESOLVED, by the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Mateo, State of California, that

WHEREAS, Behavioral Health and Recovery Services engaged in an extensive planning process resulting in the Community Services and Supports Three-Year Plan for Mental Health Services Act (MHSA) funding; and

WHEREAS, that Three-Year Plan was approved by this Board on November 8, 2005, and was subsequently approved by the State Department of Mental Health (DMH) on March 30, 2006; and

WHEREAS, on February 6, 2007 this Board of Supervisors approved an Agreement with the DMH for the provision of MHSA funding for the purpose of providing mental health services as specified in the Community Services and Supports Three-Year Plan for the term March 1, 2006 through June 30, 2008, for an approved amount of $15,216,123; and

WHEREAS, on January 29, 2008 this Board of Supervisors approved a superseding Agreement with the DMH for the provision of MHSA funding for the purpose of providing mental health services as specified in the Community Services and Supports Three-Year Plan for the term July 1, 2004 through June 30, 2008, for an approved amount of $17,760,871; and

WHEREAS, there has been presented to this Board of Supervisors for its consideration and acceptance an Amendment to the Agreement, reference to which is hereby made for further particulars, whereby the term of the superseding Agreement is extended through June 30, 2009, with no change to the Agreement maximum; and

WHEREAS, this Board has been presented with the Amendment to the Agreement and has examined and approved it as to both form and content and desires to enter into the Amendment to the Agreement:

NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY DETERMINED AND ORDERED that the President of this Board of Supervisors be and is hereby authorized and directed to execute said Amendment to the Agreement for and on behalf of the County of San Mateo, and the Clerk of this Board shall attest the President’s signature thereto.
