BOARD OF SUPERVISORS, COUNTY OF SAN MATEO, STATE OF CALIFORNIA

RESOLUTION A) AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION AN AGREEMENT WITH CALIFORNIA EMERGENCY PHYSICIANS MEDICAL GROUP TO PROVIDE EMERGENCY MEDICAL SERVICES AND CORRECTIONAL HEALTH SERVICES FOR THE TERM JULY 1, 2008 THROUGH JUNE 30, 2010, IN AN AMOUNT PAYABLE NOT TO EXCEED $7,530,110, AND B) AUTHORIZING THE CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER (CEO) OF SAN MATEO MEDICAL CENTER OR THE CEO'S DESIGNEE TO EXECUTE CONTRACT AMENDMENTS WHICH MODIFY THE COUNTY'S MAXIMUM FISCAL OBLIGATION BY NO MORE THAN $25,000 (IN AGGREGATE), AND/OR MODIFY THE CONTRACT TERM AND/OR SERVICES SO LONG AS THE MODIFIED TERM OR SERVICES IS/ARE WITHIN THE CURRENT OR REVISED FISCAL PROVISIONS

RESOLVED, by the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Mateo, State of California, that

 

WHEREAS, San Mateo Medical Center (SMMC) has a need for professional emergency medical services and correctional health services; and

 

WHEREAS, the County has determined that California Emergency Physicians Medical Group (CEP) possesses the skills and abilities necessary to provide professional medical services to SMMC’s emergency department and correctional health services; and

 

WHEREAS, there has been presented to this Board of Supervisors for its consideration and acceptance an Agreement, reference to which is hereby made, whereby CEP shall provide emergency medical services at SMMC and at the Department of Correctional Health for the term July 1, 2008 through June 30, 2010, for an amount not to exceed $7,530,110; and

 

WHEREAS, the Board has considered the Agreement and approved it as to both form and content and desires to enter into it.

 

NOW THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY DETERMINED AND ORDERED that the President of the Board of Supervisors be, and is hereby authorized and directed to execute said Agreement for and on behalf of the County of San Mateo, and the Clerk of this Board shall attest the President's signatures thereto.

 

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of San Mateo Medical Center, or the CEO's designee, shall be authorized to execute Amendments to the Agreement which modify the County's maximum fiscal obligation by no more than $25,000 (in aggregate), and/or modify the contract term and/or services so long as the modified term or services is/are within the current or revised fiscal provisions.
