RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION OF AN AMENDMENT TO THE AGREEMENT WITH SETON MEDICAL CENTER FOR TERTIARY MEDICAL SERVICES EXTENDING THE TERM BY ONE YEAR TO JUNE 30, 2008 AND INCREASING THE AMOUNT PAYABLE THEREUNDER BY $1,200,000 TO A MAXIMUM AMOUNT PAYABLE NOT TO EXCEED $2,200,000 AND 2) AUTHORIZING THE CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER (CEO) OF SAN MATEO MEDICAL CENTER (SMMC) OR THE CEO’S DESIGNEE TO EXECUTE CONTRACT AMENDMENTS WHICH MODIFY THE COUNTY’S MAXIMUM FISCAL OBLIGATION BY NO MORE THAN $25,000 (IN AGGREGATE), AND/OR MODIFY THE CONTRACT TERM AND/OR SERVICES SO LONG AS THE MODIFIED TERM OR SERVICES IS/ARE WITHIN THE CURRENT OR REVISED FISCAL PROVISIONS

RESOLVED, by the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Mateo, State of

California, that

 

WHEREAS, on January 23, 2007, the County of San Mateo and Seton Medical Center entered into an Agreement whereby Seton Medical Center agreed to provide tertiary medical services for indigent residents of San Mateo County; and

WHEREAS, the parties wish to further amend this Agreement to extend its term by one year to June 30, 2008, and increase the maximum amount payable thereunder by $1,200,000 to $2,200,000; and

WHEREAS, there has been presented to this Board of Supervisors for its consideration and acceptance an Amendment to the Agreement, reference to which is hereby made for further particulars; and

WHEREAS, this Board has examined and approved the Amendment as to both form and content and desires to enter into it.

NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY DETERMINED AND ORDERED that the President of this Board of Supervisors be, and is hereby authorized and directed, to execute said Amendment for and on behalf of the County of San Mateo, and the Clerk of the Board shall attest the President’s signature thereto.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Chief Executive Officer of SMMC shall be authorized to execute Amendments and minor notifications not to exceed $25,000 and to make minor changes in the type of services and activities provided under the Agreement.
