Amendment to the Agreement with Pacifica Resource Center – A Project of the Tides Center

 

RECOMMENDATION:

 

Adopt a Resolution authorizing an Amendment to the Agreement with Pacifica Resource Center - A Project of the Tides Center to provide funding for the remaining term of the Agreement the term remains the same, July 1, 2007 though June 30, 2010, increasing the amount by $238,924 to $347,625; $223,924 is Net County Cost

The Agreement contributes to this commitment and goal by providing San Mateo County residents with information, general assistance, case management, emergency material assistance and employment related activities through the seven (7) Core Services Agencies.

BACKGROUND:

Pacifica has been engaged in providing emergency assistance including: clothing, food, shelter vouchers and transportation to at least 300 unduplicated individuals and families per year for the past 10 years. Pacifica is one of the seven (7) Core Service Agencies, which also provides information and referral services, emergency assistance and case management services. Pacifica is the only provider of these services in the area, and has been successfully providing these unique Core services for San Mateo County residents.

 

DISCUSSION:

These Core services provide access to the County’s Human Services delivery system and serves as part of the network to prevent homelessness. The Core Services Agencies including Pacifica have met their performance measures in the past year with the Department of Housing and the Human Services Agency (HSA).

 

The Contractor has assured compliance with the County’s Contractor Employee Jury Services Ordinance, as well as all other contract provisions that are required by County ordinance and administrative memoranda, including but not limited to insurance, hold harmless, non-discrimination, equal benefits and jury service policy. This Amendment has been reviewed and approved as to form by the County Counsel’s office and Risk Management has approved the Contractor’s Insurance

 

FISCAL IMPACT:

 

The term of the Agreement remains the same, July 1, 2007 through June 30, 2010. This Amendment adds $238,924. Of the Amendment amount $15,000 is funded by the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) and $223,924 is Net County Cost. Appropriations have been included in the FY 2008-09 tentatively Adopted Budget and the FY 2009-10 Recommended Budget.
