RESOLUTION CONGRATULATING AND COMMENDING | ||||
Diane McGrath | ||||
Upon Her Retirement After | ||||
36 Years in Public Service | ||||

WHEREAS, Diane McGrath’s career in municipal government started in 1972 as a senior planner for the Rocky Mountain community of Breckenridge, Colorado, until 1985, when she moved to the Bay Area as deputy executive director of Foster City’s Community Development Agency; and | ||||
WHEREAS, in January 2002 Diane joined the Town of Colma as assistant city manager; after two separate periods as acting city manager, Diane became Colma’s permanent city manager in November 2004; and | ||||
WHEREAS, under her leadership, Colma completed several projects, including a new community center; a new public safety building; utility undergrounding along El Camino Real and Hillside Boulevard; Town Hall remodeling; and the reconstruction and beautification of Junipero Serra Boulevard solely with town funding; and | ||||
WHEREAS, additionally, Diane has helped Colma navigate the cyclical ebb and flow of municipal finances, maintaining essential services during fiscal downturns and helping to protect Colma’s gaming-revenue interests. | ||||
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Supervisors of San Mateo County congratulates and commends Diane McGrath upon her retirement after 36 years of dedicated public service. The Board expresses its gratitude and extends sincere wishes to Diane and her family for many more years of peace, health and happiness. | ||||
