RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING: (A) WAIVER OF THE REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL PROCESS; (B) EXECUTION OF AN AGREEMENT WITH SAN MATEO COUNTY COMMUNITY COLLEGE DISTRICT, TO PROVIDE THE INDEPENDENT LIVING SKILLS PROGRAM CLASSES, FOR THE TERM OF SEPTEMBER 1, 2008 TO JUNE 30, 2009, IN THE AMOUNT OF $132,228; AND (C) AUTHORIZING THE DIRECTOR OF THE HUMAN SERVICES AGENCY OR THE DIRECTOR’S DESIGNEE TO EXECUTE SUBSEQUENT AMENDMENTS AND MINOR MODIFICATIONS NOT TO EXCEED AN AGGREGATE OF $25,000 AND TO MAKE MINOR CHANGES IN THE TYPES OF SERVICES AND ACTIVITIES PROVIDED UNDER THE AGREEMENT

 

RESOLVED, by the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Mateo, State of California, that

 

WHEREAS, since September 2004, the San Mateo County Community College District (SMCCCD) has provided Independent Living Skills Program (ILP) classes for San Mateo County foster and kinship care youth; and

 

WHEREAS, it is in the County’s best interest to waive the Request For Proposal (RFP) process and contract with SMCCCD for the purpose of providing Independent Living Skills Program classes at a community college for foster and kinship care youth for Fiscal Year (FY) 2008-09 uninterrupted and to allow time for the completion of a RFP in the fall of FY 2008-09; and

 

WHEREAS, the term of this Agreement is September 1, 2008 to June 30, 2009 with a total obligation of $132,228; and

 

WHEREAS, this Board has been presented with the form of this Agreement and has examined and approved it as to both form and content and desires to enter into said Agreement; and

 

NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY DETERMINED AND ORDERED that

A. The Request for Proposal process is waived;

B. The President of this Board of Supervisors be, and is hereby, authorized and directed to execute said Agreement for and on behalf of the County of San Mateo, and the Clerk of this Board shall attest the President’s signature thereto; and

C. The Director of the Human Services Agency or the Director’s designee is authorized to execute subsequent amendments and minor modifications not to exceed an aggregate of $25,000 and to make minor changes in the types of services and activities provided under the Agreement.
