Erik began his career with the County in 2004 and is assigned to work in the IS-Health Division of ISD supporting the San Mateo Medical Center and the Health Department.
Since joining the County, Erik has worked as the lead engineer on several high profile projects including the Microsoft Active Directory Implementation which affected approximately 3,000 end users, and the reduction of San Mateo data center power and space usage through the implementation and use of virtual machine technology which resulted in power savings and optimized the use of floor space in the San Mateo data center. Erik has also designed and installed an inventory management system resulting in the efficient management and tracking of hardware and software.
Based in large part on the positive feedback from the user community he supports, Erik was recently promoted to the position of Supervisor and Lead Engineer of the Desktop / Server team in IS-Health. In addition to his commitment to excellent service, Erik has recently received his Master of Science Degree in Information Technology from Golden Gate University. His efforts to expand his skills and knowledge benefit everyone he works with.
Erik has a strong sense of community and is always willing to help out others. He consistently brings a positive attitude to each and every challenge presented to him and is the consummate team player. There isn’t a month that goes by without a call or email from Erik’s customers, recognizing the excellent service he provides.
Our County is fortunate to have Erik Larson as one of its outstanding employees.
