RESOLUTION: A) AUTHORIZING WAIVER OF THE REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL (RFP) PROCESS; B) AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION OF AN AGREEMENT WITH THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY (CRWC) AND REDWOOD CITY SCHOOL DISTRICT (RWCSD) TO PROVIDE FUNDS FOR THE FY 2008-09 OPERATIONAL COSTS FOR THE REDWOOD CITY COMMUNITY SCHOOLS (RWCCS) FOR THE TERM OF JULY 1, 2008 THROUGH JUNE 30, 2010, IN THE AMOUNT OF $113,676, $79,573 IS NET COUNTY COST

RESOLVED, by the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Mateo, State of California, that

WHEREAS, the County of San Mateo desires to enter into an Agreement with CRWC and RWCSD to provide funding support to their Redwood City Community Schools for the term of July 1, 2008 through June 30, 2010, for which San Mateo County’s payment amount will not exceed $113,676 for FY 2008-09; and

WHEREAS, it is in the County’s best interest to waive the RFP process because all parties are part of a cooperative or Joint Purchasing Agreement; and

WHEREAS, this Board has been presented with a form of such Agreement and has examined and approved it as to both form and content and desires to enter into the same.

NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY DETERMINED AND ORDERED that:

A) The Request for Proposal process is waived; and

B) The President of this Board of Supervisors is hereby authorized and directed to execute said two-year Agreement for and on behalf of the County of San Mateo, and the Clerk of this Board shall attest the President's signature thereto.
