RECOMMENDATION:

Adopt a Resolution authorizing the acceptance of a grant from Silicon Valley Community Foundation in the amount of $2,000 to provide an upgrade to the database software for patient tracking.

BACKGROUND:
|
Peninsula Community Foundation created the original software for the Adult Dental Program. They have funded upgrades to the software each year. Peninsula Community Foundation and Community Foundation Silicon Valley merged to become the Silicon Valley Community Foundation.

DISCUSSION:
|
San Mateo Medical Center (SMMC) has received a grant award of $2,000 from Silicon Valley Community Foundation to provide the support necessary for the Information Services Department (ISD) at SMMC to upgrade the database software. Enhancement of the software will improve patient tracking.
The Resolution will allow the County to accept the grant award and appropriate the funds that will pay for the software upgrade.

FISCAL IMPACT:
|
The term of the grant is one year, April 1, 2008 to March 31, 2009. The amount of the grant is $2,000. The grant will be included in the SMMC FY2008-09 Recommended Budget – September revisions.
