BOARD OF SUPERVISORS, COUNTY OF SAN MATEO, STATE OF CALIFORNIA

RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE:

PRESIDENT OF THE BOARD TO EXECUTE A THREE (3) YEAR AGREEMENT WITH THE CITY OF HAYWARD WHEREBY THE SHERIFF'S OFFICE FORENSIC LABORATORY PROVIDES FORENSIC SERVICES TO THE CITY OF HAYWARD FOR A THREE YEAR TERM (JULY 1, 2008 THROUGH JUNE 30, 2011), IN EXCHANGE FOR THE CITY’S PAYMENT TO THE COUNTY OF A MAXIMUM OF $120,000; AND

2.

SHERIFF TO EXECUTE CONTRACT AMENDMENTS WHICH MODIFY THE CONTRACT TERM AND/OR SERVICES SO LONG AS THE MODIFIED TERM OR SERVICES IS/ARE WITHIN THE CURRENT OR REVISED FISCAL PROVISIONS.

 
 

    RESOLVED, by the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Mateo, State of California, that

    WHEREAS, the City of Hayward has requested that the San Mateo County Forensics Laboratory provide supplemental forensic services; and

    WHEREAS, the Sheriff’s Forensic Lab is able to provide contract forensic services to the City of Hayward without compromising the level of service provided to law enforcement agencies in the County of San Mateo; and

    WHEREAS, both parties now wish to enter into an agreement, whereby the Sheriff’s Office will provide the City of Hayward with forensic services for a three-year period commencing July 1, 2008 until June 30, 2011, in exchange for City reimbursement to the County of a total amount not to exceed $120,000 for said period; and

    WHEREAS, this Board has been presented with a form of such agreement and has examined and approved same as to both form and content, and desires to enter into same:

    NOW THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY DETERMINED AND ORDERED THAT THE:

President of this Board of Supervisors be, and is hereby authorized to, execute the three (3) year agreement with the City of Hayward whereby the Sheriff's Office Forensic Laboratory will provide forensic laboratory services for a three year term (July 1, 2008 through June 30, 2011), in exchange for the City’s payment to the County of a maximum of $120,000; and

2.

Sheriff is hereby authorized to execute amendments and minor modifications to the contract term and/or services so long as the modified term or services is/are within the current or revised fiscal provisions.
