BOARD OF SUPERVISORS, COUNTY OF SAN MATEO, STATE OF CALIFORNIA

RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE PRESIDENT OF THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS TO EXECUTE AMENDMENT TWO TO THE AGREEMENT WITH HORMANN AMERICA, INC. TO INCREASE THE AMOUNT OF THE CONTRACT BY $49,600 FROM $370,296.88 TO $419,896.88, AND EXTENDING THE TERM ONE YEAR FROM OCTOBER 31, 2008 TO OCTOBER 31, 2009.

RESOLVED, by the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Mateo, State of California, that:

WHEREAS, on November 14, 2006, the Board executed an Agreement (Resolution No. 068394) with Hormann America, Inc. for furnishing and installing a complete, integrated, working high-speed emergency alert system for the term of November 1, 2006 through October 31, 2008; and

WHEREAS, on November 26, 2007, the Sheriff and Hormann American, Inc. executed Amendment One which increased the contract amount by $20,296.88, from $350,000 to $370,296.88, for provision of an additional outdoor siren, and to provide payment for the additional equipment and services; and

WHEREAS, both parties now wish to further amend the Agreement to provide for the installation of four sirens, thereby increasing the amount of the contract by $49,600 from $370,296.88 to $419,896.88, and to extend the term by one year from October 31, 2008 to October 31, 2009; and

WHEREAS, this board has been presented with a form of such Amendment and has examined and approved same as to both form and content, and desires to enter into same:

NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY DETERMINED AND ORDERED THAT the President of this Board of Supervisors be and is hereby authorized and directed to execute said Second Amendment to the Agreement with Hormann America, Inc. for and on behalf of the County of San Mateo, and the Clerk of this Board shall attest the President’s signature thereto.
