RESOLUTION

THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS

COUNTY OF SAN MATEO, STATE OF CALIFORNIA

RESOLUTION HONORING AND COMMENDING

ROBERTA REYNOLDS, Ph.D.

WHEREAS, DR. ROBERTA REYNOLDS is recognized for a long history of accomplishments, contributions and ongoing efforts as a teacher, advisor and mentor to a wide range of students and the remarkable community of poets and writers that live in San Mateo County; and

WHEREAS, DR. ROBERTA REYNOLDS has long been an honored member of the faculty in the English Department of the College of San Mateo where she has devotedly guided generations of Creative Writing students, while continuing to be inspiring and insightful to each of them throughout the years; and

WHEREAS, DR. ROBERTA REYNOLDS has founded several, ongoing writers’ and poets’ groups which provided venues for stimulating conversation and a skillfully guided critique process, the result of which has produced a number of successful authors; and

WHEREAS, for more than a decade, DR. ROBERTA REYNOLDS has served as a volunteer for the San Mateo County Fair’s Fine Arts Division as a judge of literary entries; and, has always generously returned the honorarium specifying it be used for awards; and

WHEREAS, while DR. ROBERTA REYNOLDS has been inspiring and encouraging countless readers, writers and students throughout the years, she has been a dedicated artist herself, tirelessly producing a body of world class poetry of her own,

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Mateo, State of California, hereby commends DR. ROBERTA REYNOLDS for her leadership, dedication and commitment to the literary community of San Mateo County and wishes her continued success in all of her endeavors.
