RESOLUTION HONORING AND COMMENDING
|
|
|
CATHERINE QUIGG
AS MILLBRAE
2008 WOMAN OF THE YEAR
|

|
WHEREAS, it has come to the attention of the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Mateo, State of California, that CATHERINE QUIGG is being honored at Millbrae’s 2008 Millbrae Man & Woman of the Year Awards Dinner for outstanding voluntary service to the community; and
|
|
|
|
WHEREAS, CATHERINE QUIGG has been dedicated to selfless community service in Millbrae for 38 years; and
|
|
|
|
WHEREAS, CATHERINE QUIGG began her community service activities with her involvement in the Glen Oaks Elementary School PTA, where she in multiple leadership roles from 1970 to 1984, and in the St. Dunstan’s Women Club where she had served as Board Treasurer and chaired a number of fundraising events from 1974 to 1990; and
|

|
WHEREAS, CATHERINE QUIGG has served the Millbrae community through her work on numerous city committees and commissions, including the Millbrae 21st Century Commission from 1988 to 1990, the Millbrae 50th Anniversary Committee from 1997 to 1998, and the Millbrae Planning Commission since 1992, where she has served three terms as Chairperson; and
|
|
|
|
WHEREAS, CATHERINE QUIGG has worked to improve the lives of Millbrae residents through her commitment and leadership in community organizations, including the Millbrae Historical Society, the Soroptimist International of Millbrae-San Bruno, the San Mateo County Association of Realtors, and the Millbrae Community Foundation.
|
|
|
|
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Mateo, State of California, on this 17th day of October, two thousand and eight, hereby honors and commends CATHERINE QUIGG as Millbrae’s 2008 Woman of the Year for her outstanding volunteer service. The citizens of Millbrae and San Mateo County have greatly benefited from the efforts of CATHERINE QUIGG. The Board of Supervisors extends its heartfelt appreciation and congratulations.
