RESOLUTION HONORING AND COMMENDING | ||||

RALPH JAECK | ||||

WHEREAS, RALPH JAECK has served as the City Manager for the City of Millbrae since October 2004, and will be stepping down from his position on September 30, 2008; and | ||||
WHEREAS, during his tenure as City Manager, RALPH JAECK has been a key figure in the fiscal turnaround of Millbrae, helped to rebuild the city’s organization and staff, developed “sustainability” programs and diversified cultural programming to address changing demographics; and | ||||
WHEREAS, RALPH JAECK has had decades of experience in the management of cities, and has served as Assistant City Manager for the City of Reno, Nevada from 1992-1994, was a Senior Associate at Hughes-Heiss Associates in San Mateo from 1990-1992 specializing as a municipal government consultant and served in many position in the City of Mountain View from 1970-1989, including City Manager; and | ||||
WHEREAS, RALPH JAECK received his Bachelors of Arts in Economics from Sonoma State, his Masters in Public Administration from San Jose State University and has been a college instructor at the University of Phoenix, Golden Gate University and California State Fire Academy; and | ||||
WHEREAS, RALPH JAECK has been dedicated to working with community service organizations, including the Association of Bay Area Governments “Focus” Task Force, the Criminal Justice Council in San Mateo, the Operations Committee of the San Mateo County Library JPA, and many others; and | ||||
WHEREAS, RALPH JAECK has received numerous recognitions for his excellent work, including the International City County Managers Award for Program Excellence 2007, the Special Recognition Award for Sustainable San Mateo County 2007, and the AFL of Nevada Employer of the Year 2004. | ||||
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Mateo, State of California, on September 30, 2008, hereby commends and honors RALPH JAECK for his excellent work as City Manager for the City of Millbrae, and for his many years of commitment to public service. | ||||
