RESOLUTION
1. APPROVING THE CONSTRUCTION PLANS, SPECIFICATIONS, AND CONFORMANCE WITH PREVAILING WAGE SCALE REQUIREMENTS FOR THE ACCESSIBILITY IMPROVEMENT PROJECT FOR THE 2ND, 4TH, AND 5TH FLOOR TOILET ROOMS AT 455 COUNTY CENTER, REDWOOD CITY.
2. AUTHORIZING THE PUBLICATION OF A NOTICE TO CONTRACTORS TWICE IN A LOCAL NEWSPAPER.
3. AUTHORIZING THE DIRECTOR OF PUBLIC WORKS TO CALL FOR BIDS AND TO SET THE BID OPENING DATE, TIME AND PLACE.

RESOLVED, by the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Mateo, State of California, that

 

WHEREAS, the Board of Supervisors has approved various Accessibility Improvements for the 2nd, 4th and 5th floor toilet rooms, at 455 County Center, Redwood City; and

 

WHEREAS, the County contracted with a consulting architect for the design and construction administration of the plans and specifications that are now complete and the project is ready for bid; and

 

WHEREAS, the project will be constructed using a general contractor and wage scales for each craft or type of workman needed to execute this contract in the locality in which said work is to be performed, as established by the Department of Industrial Relations and has been referred to in said specifications.

 

    NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY DETERMINED AND ORDERED that:

 
 

1.

The Board of Supervisors be and is hereby, authorized to approve the construction plans and specification for the Accessibility Improvements in the 2nd, 4th and 5th Floor Toilet Rooms of the County Office Building at 455 County Center, Redwood City; authorize the publication of a Notice to Contractors twice in a local newspaper and authorize the Director of Public Works to call for bids and to set the bid opening date, time and place.

The schedule of prevailing wages referred to in said specification has been determined to contain the general prevailing rates of wages in the locality in which said work is to be performed for each type of workman needed to execute the contract.

 
 

3.

The Department of Public Works is authorized and directed to issue a call for sealed proposals and authorize the Director of Public Works to call for bids and to set the bid opening date and time. Said bids will be received by the Clerk of the Board of Supervisors and then transmitted to the County Manager’s Office in said Hall of Justice and be publicly opened and declared.

 
 

4.

The Department of Public Works is further directed to cause the Notice inviting sealed bids to be published for two times in the Independent Newsgroup, a newspaper printed and published in this County. A copy of said publication will be placed on file with the Clerk of the Board of Supervisors.
