BOARD OF SUPERVISORS, COUNTY OF SAN MATEO, STATE OF CALIFORNIA

    ACTING AS THE GOVERNING BOARD OF THE MENLO PARK HIGHWAY LIGHTING DISTRICT (DISTRICT), ADOPT A RESOLUTION DETERMINING THAT:
    1) IT IS JUST AND EQUITABLE AND IN THE PUBLIC INTEREST TO HAVE THE COST OF INSTALLING AND MAINTAINING ONE ADDITIONAL STREETLIGHT, PROPOSED TO BE INSTALLED ON 5TH AVENUE
    (710 5TH AVENUE) WITHIN THE DISTRICT’S BOUNDARY, CHARGED AGAINST THE DISTRICT, AND
    2) AUTHORIZING THE INSTALLATION OF THE STREETLIGHT

RESOLVED, by the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Mateo, State of California, acting as the governing Board of the Menlo Park Highway Lighting District (District), that

 

WHEREAS, there has been filed with the District a valid petition signed by twenty-five (25) property owners within the District, requesting the installation of one additional streetlight in the vicinity of 710 5th Avenue; and

 

WHEREAS, Section 19160 et. sec. of the California Streets and Highways Code provides that the governing board of a lighting district may make the expense of the installation of additional lights a charge upon the district if the board determines that it will be just and equitable, and in the public interest for the additional cost to be paid by the district as a whole; and

WHEREAS, the Director of Public Works has reported that the District has sufficient funds to finance the cost of said light requested to be installed on 5th Avenue within the limits of said District; and

WHEREAS, this Board finds that the cost of the additional light is just and equitable and in the public interest.

 

NOW THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY DETERMINED AND ORDERED as follows:

 

1.

The installation of one additional streetlight that the property owners within the District petitioned for is hereby ordered pursuant to Section 19160 of the California Streets and Highways Code.

 

2.

The cost of installation and maintenance of said streetlight shall be a charge upon the Menlo Park Highway Lighting District.

 

3.

The Director of Public Works is authorized to notify Pacific Gas and Electric Company that all billings for the additional streetlight within the Menlo Park Highway Lighting District be forwarded to the Department of Public Works for payment.
