SUBJECT:

Appropriation Transfer Request for Fish Passage Barrier Project at Sequoia Flat Crossing in Memorial Park

 

RECOMMENDATION:

Adopt an Appropriation Transfer Request to provide an appropriation in the Capital Projects Fund in the amount of $250,000 for the Fish Passage Barrier Modifications Project at Sequoia Flat Crossing in Memorial Park (Project No. OD029).

The project modifies an existing fish passage barrier that is located at the Sequoia Flat Crossing of Pescadero Creek in Memorial Park. This is a Department of Parks project that is being implemented through the Department of Public Works.

 

BACKGROUND:

Adopted Resolution Number 068179 on August 1, 2006, which authorized acceptance of funding in the amount of $275,024 from the California Department of Fish and Game.

 

Adopted Resolution Number 068689 on May 1, 2007, which adopted Plans and Specifications and called for the sealed bids for the project. However, the project was put on hold prior to bid opening due to grant funding issues.

 

Adopted Resolution Number 069441 on May 20, 2008, which called for sealed proposals for the Fish Passage Barrier Modifications to Sequoia Flat Crossing Memorial Park, California project.

 

Adopted Resolution Number 069509 on June 10, 2008, authorizing the execution of a contract with Half Moon Bay Grading & Paving, Inc. for the construction of the project.

 

DISCUSSION:

This project is being managed and accounted for through the Capital Projects Fund with financing from the Parks Acquisition and Development fund. This Appropriation Transfer Request is necessary to establish the appropriation in Capital Projects for this purpose.

 

FISCAL IMPACT:

This request will transfer $250,000 from the Parks Acquisition and Development Fund to the Capital Projects Fund. There will be no impact on the County’s General Fund.
