RESOLUTION RECOGNIZING | ||||
Tim’s House | ||||
A Partnership Between | ||||
The Service League of San Mateo County and The Tim Griffith Memorial Foundation | ||||

WHEREAS, Tim Griffith was just 21 years old when he was stabbed to death on Sept. 17, 2004, outside AT&T Park just after a San Francisco Giants baseball game; and | ||||
WHEREAS, Tim’s family started the Tim Griffith Memorial Foundation, which has raised thousands of dollars for violence prevention, animal rescue and grief counseling; and | ||||
WHEREAS, working with the Service League of San Mateo County, the foundation created Tim’s House, a six-bed, sober-living home for men participating in the county’s Bridges program, run by the Probation Department; months before his murder, Tim completed 90 days with Bridges; and | ||||
WHEREAS, Tim’s House honors the legacy and spirit of Tim Griffith, who had a reputation for bringing home lost animals and who, as a five-year-old boy, gave his Christmas money to a homeless person. | ||||
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Supervisors of San Mateo County congratulates the Service League of San Mateo County and the Tim Griffith Memorial Foundation upon the opening of Tim’s House. The Board expresses its gratitude to Tim’s mother, Stacy Redman, plus all who where involved in creating Tim’s House and extends sincere wishes for success and excellence in rebuilding lives. | ||||
