BOARD OF SUPERVISORS, COUNTY OF SAN MATEO, STATE OF CALIFORNIA

RESOLUTION 1) AUTHORIZING THE PRESIDENT OF THE BOARD TO EXECUTE AN AGREEMENT WITH ASSOCIATED MEDICAL SPECIALISTS (AMS) TO PROVIDE INTERNAL MEDICINE, SUBSPECIALTY AND HOSPITALIST SERVICES, FOR THE TERM OCTOBER 1, 2008 THROUGH SEPTEMBER 30, 2011, IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $14,407,765 AND 2) AUTHORIZING THE CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER OF SAN MATEO MEDICAL CENTER (SMMC) OR DESIGNEE TO EXECUTE CONTRACT AMENDMENTS WHICH MODIFY THE COUNTY’S MAXIMUM FISCAL OBLIGATION BY NO MORE THAN $25,000, AND/OR MODIFY THE CONTRACT TERM AND/OR SERVICES SO LONG AS THE MODIFIED TERM OR SERVICES IS/ARE WITHIN THE CURRENT OR REVISED FISCAL PROVISIONS

RESOLVED, by the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Mateo, State of California, that

 

WHEREAS, the County of San Mateo wishes to enter into an Agreement with Associated Medical Specialists (AMS) whereby AMS will provide internal medicine subspecialty inpatient and outpatient services and the management and supervision of those services for San Mateo Medical Center for the period October 1, 2008 through September 30, 2011, for a maximum amount not to exceed $14,407,765; and

 

WHEREAS, there has been presented to this Board of Supervisors for its consideration and acceptance an Agreement, reference to which is hereby made, whereby AMS shall provide such services; and

 

WHEREAS, this Board has examined and approved this Agreement as to both form and content and desires to enter into it.

 

NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY DETERMINED AND ORDERED that the President of this Board of Supervisors be, and is hereby authorized and directed to execute said Agreement for and on behalf of the County of San Mateo, and the Clerk of this Board shall attest the President's signature thereto.

 

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Chief Executive Officer of SMMC or designee shall be authorized to execute contract amendments which modify the County’s maximum fiscal obligation by no more than $25,000, and/or modify the contract’s term and/or services so long as the modified term or services is/are within the current or revised fiscal provisions.
