COUNTY OF SAN MATEO, STATE OF CALIFORNIA

RESOLUTION CONGRATULATING

Paula A. Cuneo

Upon her retirement after 35 years with

San Mateo County

* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *

WHEREAS, Paula A. Cuneo, a lifelong resident of San Carlos, joined the county in March 1973, as an eligibility worker with what was then called the Department of Social Services; and

   

WHEREAS, in 1980, and ready for new challenges, Paula completed the real estate coursework at Anthony Schools, plus a drafting course at Caņada College, accepting a position as a real property appraiser for then-Assessor Roland Giannini; this position became Paula’s new home at County Center; and

   

WHEREAS, joining the Standards Unit in 1988, Paula helped create benchmarks for assessments and overall office operations; in 1997, Assessor-County Clerk-Recorder Warren Slocum promoted Paula to management analyst; two years later, Paula was placed in charge of the County-Recorder portion of the office; and

   

WHEREAS, in 2000, Mr. Slocum appointed Paula as Deputy Assessor-County Clerk-Recorder, responsible for the Personal Property Division and overseeing auditors, customer service staff, plus management of the Fiscal Unit, which included the electronic filing of business property statements and the scanning of all assessor documents – conserving resources, reducing processing times and data-entry work injuries.

   

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Supervisors of San Mateo County congratulates Paula A. Cuneo upon her retirement after more than 35 years of dedicated service to the people and businesses of San Mateo County. The Board hereby expresses it gratitude and extends sincere wishes to Paula and her family for the best of luck in all future endeavors, accompanied by many years of continuous peace, health and happiness.
