RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE PRESIDENT OF THE BOARD TO ACCEPT AND APPROVE SUBMISSION OF AN ASSIGNMENT LETTER AUTHORIZING THE STATE DEPARTMENT OF MENTAL HEALTH TO TRANSFER THE MENTAL HEALTH SERVICES ACT HOUSING PROGRAM PLANNING ESTIMATE FUNDS TO THE CALIFORNIA HOUSING FINANCE AUTHORITY ON BEHALF OF SAN MATEO COUNTY

RESOLVED, by the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Mateo, State of California, that

WHEREAS, the State Department of Mental Health (DMH) has designated $6,762,000 in Mental Health Services Act (MHSA) Housing Program funds for San Mateo County for the development of permanent supportive housing for seriously mentally ill persons who are homeless or at-risk of homelessness and their families; and

WHEREAS, the MHSA-funded Housing Program will be jointly administered by DMH and the California Housing and Finance Agency (CalHFA); and

WHEREAS, in order to comply with State regulations to access said funds the President of this Board must execute an Assignment Letter whereby San Mateo County agrees to participate in the MHSA-funded Housing Program and further agrees that the amount of $6,762,000 be transferred by DMH to CalHFA on behalf of the County; and

WHEREAS, this Board has been presented with the Assignment Letter and has examined and approved it as to both form and content and desires to execute the Assignment Letter:

NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY DETERMINED AND ORDERED that the President of this Board of Supervisors be and is hereby authorized and directed to execute said Assignment Letter for and on behalf of the County of San Mateo, and the Clerk of this Board shall attest the President’s signature thereto.
