RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THE DIRECTOR OF THE DEPARTMENT OF PARKS TO ACCEPT A CALIFORNIA DEPARTMENT OF FISH AND GAME HABITAT CONSERVATION PLANNING GRANT IN THE AMOUNT OF $98,480, FOR THE PREPARATION OF AN AMENDMENT TO THE SAN BRUNO MOUNTAIN HABITAT CONSERVATION PLAN, AND EXECUTE DOCUMENTS IN CONNECTION THEREWITH

RESOLVED, by the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Mateo, State of California, that

 

WHEREAS, the County of San Mateo, and the Cities of Brisbane, Daly City and South San Francisco (collectively, the “Cities”) are parties to the San Bruno Mountain Habitat Conservation Plan (“HCP”), and the Agreement with respect to the San Bruno Mountain Habitat Conservation Plan (“HCP Agreement”), recorded in the official records of San Mateo County as Document No. 83026343, and are permittees under Permit No. PRT 2-9818 (“Section 10a Permit”), issued by the United States Fish and Wildlife Service (“USFWS”) under Section 10a of the Federal Endangered Species Act, 16 U.S.C. section1631 et seq.;and

 

WHEREAS, section IX of the HCP Agreement provides a process by which the HCP may be amended; and

 

WHEREAS, the County and the Cities desire to amend the HCP and Section 10a Permit in response to the listing of the Calippe silverspot butterfly and in order to incorporate adaptive management to better manage and implement the HCP; and

 

WHEREAS, a grant application for $98,480 to complete the HCP amendment has been approved by the California Department of Fish and Game and Agreement P0882007 has been issued to assist in funding the completion of the HCP amendment process;

 

NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY DETERMINED AND ORDERED that the Director of the Department of Parks is hereby authorized and directed to accept a California Department of Fish and Game Habitat Conservation Planning Grant in the amount of $98,480, for the preparation of an amendment to the San Bruno Mountain Habitat Conservation Plan, and execute documents in connection therewith.
