BOARD OF SUPERVISORS, COUNTY OF SAN MATEO, STATE OF CALIFORNIA

RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE PRESIDENT OF THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS TO EXECUTE A $750,000 AGREEMENT BETWEEN CITY/COUNTY ASSOCIATION OF GOVERNMENTS (C/CAG) AND THE COUNTY OF SAN MATEO FOR MANAGEMENT AND STAFFING OF SAN MATEO COUNTY ENERGY WATCH, A LOCAL GOVERNMENT PARTNERSHIP (LGP) WITH PACIFIC GAS AND ELECTRIC COMPANY BETWEEN OCTOBER 9, 2008 AND MARCH 31, 2011.

RESOLVED, by the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Mateo, State of California, that

 

WHEREAS, County of San Mateo Department of Public Works, Waste Management and Environmental Services Section (RecycleWorks) submitted a program abstract to Pacific Gas and Electric Company (PG&E) on behalf of the City and County Association of Governments (C/CAG) to form San Mateo County Energy Watch; and

 

WHEREAS, as a result of the above mentioned program abstract submission, C/CAG is entering into a Local Government Partnership (LGP) contract with PG&E for San Mateo County Energy Watch, a program that will provide $3.5 million in San Mateo County ratepayer Public Good Funds for energy efficiency projects to public facilities and businesses, and residents countywide, and

 

WHEREAS, there has been presented to this Board for its consideration and acceptance, an agreement between City and County Association of Governments and the County of San Mateo which agreement provides for the County to be paid up to $750,000 for providing management and staffing services for the San Mateo County Energy Watch from October 9,2008 to March 31,2011(the “Agreement”); and

 

WHEREAS, this action furthers commitments to responsive, effective and collaborative government through support of a program for cities and the County to reduce energy use, save money, and reduce greenhouse gases that contribute to climate change;

 

NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY DETERMINED AND ORDERED that the President of the Board of Supervisors be authorized to execute the Agreement..
