RESOLUTION CONGRATULATING AND COMMENDING | ||||
Burton Alberts | ||||
Upon His Retirement After | ||||
14 years as Executive Director of the Brisbane Chamber of Commerce | ||||

WHEREAS, since 1995, Burton Alberts has guided the Brisbane Chamber of Commerce, growing the organization, raising its profile and expanding its influence; and | ||||
WHEREAS, under Burt’s leadership, the chamber’s scholarship program has helped hundreds of Brisbane youth and their families, while the Students in Business and Government Forum continues to encourage and educate middle school students; and | ||||
WHEREAS, Burt brought to the chamber a lifetime of professional and public-private collaborative experience, stemming from 25 years in the hospitality industry, the import-export field and teaching classes on managing small businesses; in 1992, he helped found what is now known as the Daly City Enterprise Center; and | ||||
WHEREAS, Burt continues to serve on the board of the Golden Gate Better Business Bureau, and as a volunteer with the San Francisco Convention and Visitors Bureau; he and his wife Florence are looking forward to being docents at the California Academy of Sciences. | ||||
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Supervisors of San Mateo County congratulates Burton “Burt” Alberts upon his retirement after nearly 14 years as executive director of the Brisbane Chamber of Commerce. The Board expresses its gratitude and extends sincere wishes to Burt, his wife Florence and their children for many years of continuous peace, health and happiness. | ||||
