RESOLUTION CONGRATULATING THE

American Institute of Architects

San Mateo County Chapter

Upon Its

25th Anniversary

WHEREAS, In 1983, 22 Peninsula architects founded the San Mateo County chapter of the American Institute of Architects to create a professional resource of ideas and knowledge for all architects in the region; and

   

WHEREAS, Over the past quarter-century, AIA San Mateo County Chapter has grown to more than 125 members entrusted to public health, safety and welfare through their professional training and understanding of issues, such as seismic safety, energy conservation, sustainability, modern planning and livable communities; and

   

WHEREAS, AIA San Mateo County Chapter has sponsored and conducted urban design workshops in cities throughout the county, plus regular training for building and construction professionals statewide who have become State Certified Disaster Service Workers for Seismic Damage Assessment; and

   

WHEREAS, AIA San Mateo County Chapter remains on the forefront of forward-thinking architectural design, while helping to preserve the unique character of San Mateo County through innovation and consultation on projects public and private.

   

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Supervisors of San Mateo County congratulates the San Mateo County chapter of the American Institute of Architects upon the celebration of the chapter’s 25th anniversary. The Board further extends sincere wishes to the chapter and its membership for at least another 25 years of continuous success and excellence.
