RESOLUTION CONGRATULATING THE

RotaCare Clinic

Seton Medical Center

Upon Its

15^th Anniversary

WHEREAS, founded in summer 1993, with significant assistance from San Mateo County chapters of Rotary International, the RotaCare Clinic is an extension of Seton Medical Center’s overall mission to care for the poor, uninsured and underserved; and

WHEREAS, once a week, a team of more than 70 volunteers, including physicians, nurses, nurse practitioners, physicians assistants, pharmacists and translators provide free urgent health care to approximately 600 patients a year; and

WHEREAS, the RotaCare Clinic treats basic illnesses and minor injuries, fills certain prescriptions, plus other health care services, including x-rays, immunizations, eye exams and referrals for social services and chronic care; and

WHEREAS, the clinic also works closely with the San Mateo County Health Department and California Health Initiatives, Inc., to screen RotaCare Clinic clients for MediCal and/or the Wellness Program; and

WHEREAS, over the years, the RotaCare Clinic – through the generosity of Seton Medical Center – has helped improve the lives of thousands of individuals and families, often making the difference between self-sufficiency and otherwise.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Supervisors of San Mateo County congratulates the RotaCare Clinic at Seton Medical Center in Daly City upon the celebration of the clinic’s 15^th anniversary. The Board expresses its gratitude to the physicians, nurses, support staff and volunteers who selflessly help those who need help the most, and extends sincere wishes for many more years of success and excellence.
