RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE PRESIDENT OF THE BOARD TO EXECUTE AN AMENDMENT TO THE AGREEMENT WITH THE REGENTS OF THE UNIVERSITY OF CALIFORNIA ON BEHALF OF THE UNIVERSITY OF CALIFORNIA, SAN FRANCISCO (UCSF) MEDICAL CENTER, UCSF CHILDREN’S HOSPITAL, AND UCSF MEDICAL GROUP FOR SERVICES PROVIDED TO MEDICALLY INDIGENT ADULT PATIENTS REFERRED BY SAN MATEO MEDICAL CENTER, FOR THE PERIOD JANUARY 1, 2006 THROUGH DECEMBER 31, 2008, INCREASING THE MAXIMUM AMOUNT PAYABLE UNDER THE AGREEMENT BY $953,000, FROM $450,000 TO $1,403,000

RESOLVED, by the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Mateo, State of California, that

WHEREAS, on August 15, 2006, the Board of Supervisors, by Resolution 68233, authorized an Agreement with the Regents of the University of California on behalf of the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF) Medical Center, UCSF Children’s Hospital, and UCSF Medical Group for services provided to medically indigent adult patients referred by San Mateo Medical Center (SMMC) for the term January 1, 2006 through December 31, 2008; and

WHEREAS San Mateo Medical Center has a continued need for specialized medical care services that are not available on site or within the existing SMMC contract network; and

WHEREAS, the Parties wish to amend this Agreement to increase the maximum amount payable thereunder by $953,000, from $450,000 to $1,403,000; and

WHEREAS there has been presented to this Board of Supervisors for its consideration and acceptance an Amendment to the Agreement, reference to which is hereby made, whereby the Regents of the University of California shall continue to provide professional specialized medical care services; and

WHEREAS, this Board has been presented with a form of the Amendment and has examined and approved it as to both form and content and desires to enter into it.

NOW THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY DETERMINED AND ORDERED that the President of this Board of Supervisors be, and is hereby authorized and directed to execute said Amendment for and on behalf of the County of San Mateo, and the Clerk of this Board shall attest the President's signatures thereto.
