BOARD OF SUPERVISORS, COUNTY OF SAN MATEO, STATE OF CALIFORNIA

RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE PRESIDENT OF THE BOARD TO EXECUTE AN AGREEMENT WITH MACRO CORPORATION TO PROVIDE ENGINEERING SERVICES RELATED TO THE DEVELOPMENT OF A P25 PUBLIC SAFETY RADIO NETWORK IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $474,716, FOR A TERM COMMENCING DECEMBER 16, 2008, THROUGH DECEMBER 15, 2011; AND AUTHORIZING THE SHERIFF OR HIS DESIGNEE TO EXECUTE AMENDMENT AND MINOR MODIFICATIONS TO THIS AGREEMENT NOT TO EXCEED AN AGGREGATE OF $25,000 AND/OR MODIFY THE AGREEMENT TERM AND/OR SERVICES SO LONG AS THE MODIFIED TERM OR SERVICES IS/ARE WITHIN THE CURRENT OR REVISED FISCAL PROVISIONS.

RESOLVED, by the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Mateo, State of California, that:

WHEREAS, there has been presented to this Board of Supervisors for its consideration and acceptance an Agreement with Macro Corporation for the development of a functional specification and technical support for the design of a P25 Public Safety Radio Network; and

WHEREAS, in October 2007, the San Mateo County Operational Area was awarded grant funding in the amount of $1,288,053 from the Super Urban Area Security Initiative (SUASI), for which $990,000 was designated for the development and technical support of a P25 Public Safety Radio Network; and

WHEREAS, the Radio Interoperability Steering Committee (RISC) has selected Macro Corporation through the competitive bid process to provide engineering services related to the development of this network; and

WHEREAS, both parties now wish to enter into an Agreement to provide engineering services related to the development of a P25 Public Safety Radio Network for the period of December 16, 2008, to December 15, 2011, for a total obligation of no more than $474,716; and

WHEREAS, this Board has been requested to grant signature authority to the Sheriff or his designee to execute contract amendments which modify the County’s maximum fiscal obligation by no more than $25,000 (in aggregate) and/or modify the Contract term and/or services so long as the modified term or services is/are within the current or revised fiscal provisions; and

WHEREAS, this Board has been presented with a form of such Agreement, has examined and approved same as to both form and content, and desires to enter into same;

NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY DETERMINED AND ORDERED that the
President of the Board of Supervisors is authorized to execute an Agreement with Macro Corporation to provide engineering services related to the development of a P25 Public Safety Network, for and on behalf of the County of San Mateo, and the Clerk of this Board shall attest the President’s signature thereto.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that signature authority is granted to the Sheriff or his designee to execute contract amendments which modify the County’s maximum fiscal obligation by no more than $25,000 (in aggregate) and/or modify the Contract term and/or services so long as the modified term or services is/are within the current or revised fiscal provisions.
