BOARD OF SUPERVISORS, COUNTY OF SAN MATEO, STATE OF CALIFORNIA

RESOLUTION 1) AUTHORIZING THE COUNTY OF SAN MATEO TO SUBMIT A CALIFORNIA DEPARTMENT OF BOATING AND WATERWAYS GRANT APPLICATION IN THE AMOUNT OF $146,000 FOR THE COYOTE POINT MARINA RESTROOM BUILDING PROJECT; AND 2) AUTHORIZING THE DIRECTOR OF THE PARKS DEPARTMENT OR HIS DESIGNEE TO EXECUTE IN THE NAME OF THE COUNTY OF SAN MATEO ALL NECESSARY APPLICATIONS, CONTRACTS, AGREEMENTS, AMENDMENTS AND PAYMENT REQUESTS HERETO FOR THE PURPOSES OF SECURING GRANT FUNDS AND TO IMPLEMENT AND CARRY OUT THE PURPOSES SPECIFIED IN THE GRANT APPLICATION

RESOLVED, by the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Mateo, State of California, that

WHEREAS, San Mateo County owns and operates the Coyote Point Marina boat launching facility; and

WHEREAS, San Mateo County would like to improve the boat launching facility at Coyote Point Marina to meet the needs of watercraft users by providing public amenities to those utilizing boat launching facilities; and

WHEREAS, The Department of Boating and Waterways is authorized to provide grants to cities, counties, districts, and other agencies for the construction and improvements of small craft launching areas; and

WHEREAS, San Mateo County is willing to provide for the operation and maintenance of the proposed facility at no cost to the State; and

WHEREAS, this resolution upon approval will supersede Resolution Number 068457 adopted by this Board on January 9, 2007.

NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY DETERMINED AND ORDERED that the Board of Supervisors 1) authorizes the County of San Mateo to submit a California Department of Boating and Waterways grant application in the amount of $146,000 for the Coyote Point Marina Restroom Building Project; and 2) authorizes the Director of the Parks Department or his designee to execute in the name of the County of San Mateo all necessary applications, contracts, agreements, amendments and payment requests hereto for the purposes of securing grant funds and to implement and carry out the purposes specified in the grant application.
