RESOLUTION APPROVING DISPOSAL THROUGH PUBLIC AUCTION OF THREE SCHOOL BUSES THAT HAVE EXCEEDED THEIR USABLE LIFE OR ARE NO LONGER SERVING A USEFUL FUNCTION.

RESOLVED, by the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Mateo, State of California, that

WHEREAS, the County purchased three school buses for use by the Probation Department in transporting children; and

WHEREAS, the Probation Department is utilizing the services of a private contractor for transporting children and there is no longer a use for the three school buses; and

WHEREAS, the disposal of these three school buses through public auction will result in funding being made available to offset the cost of acquisition of new vehicles needed by the Probation Department; and

WHEREAS, County Ordinance Section 2.83.120 requires approval of the Board of Supervisors before disposal of surplus property that is estimated to exceed $10,000 in value.

NOW THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY DETERMINED AND ORDERED that

The Board of Supervisors does hereby authorize the disposal through public auction of three school buses as identified by the following Vehicle Identification Numbers:
