Upon Her | ||||
25th Anniversary with Second Harvest Food Bank of Santa Clara and San Mateo Counties | ||||

WHEREAS, for a quarter-century, and counting, Cindy McCown has helped the Second Harvest Food Bank of Santa Clara and San Mateo Counties meet the nutritional needs of low-income individuals and families; and | ||||
WHEREAS, holding degrees in nutritional education, Cindy advocates for a hungry population as the Food Bank’s senior director of programs and services, plus her various legislative roles; and | ||||
WHEREAS, over the years, Cindy has held management posts in several areas at the Food Bank, including welfare reform, disaster preparedness and response, issues involving children, families, seniors, immigrants and refugees, and she has completed leadership assignments at the state and national levels; and | ||||
WHEREAS, Cindy defines advocacy as “Standing up for what you believe in,” a guiding principle for herself that, through her own inspiring actions, Cindy is instilling in those around her, including her family. | ||||
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Supervisors of San Mateo County congratulates Cindy McCown upon the celebration of her 25th anniversary with the Second Harvest Food Bank of Santa Clara and San Mateo Counties. The Board hereby expresses its gratitude and extends sincere wishes to Cindy for at least another 25 years of continuous success and excellence. | ||||
