BOARD OF SUPERVISORS, COUNTY OF SAN MATEO, STATE OF CALIFORNIA

RESOLUTION: 1) AUTHORIZING THE PRESIDENT OF THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS TO EXECUTE AN AGREEMENT WITH PYRAMID ALTERNATIVES FOR THE PURPOSE OF PROVIDING SUBSTANCE ABUSE COUNSELING, EDUCATION, ANGER MANAGEMENT, LIFE-SKILLS TRAINING, AND SUPPORTIVE SUPERVISION TO CLIENTS IN THE SAN MATEO COUNTY ADULT PROBATION’S BRIDGES PROGRAM FOR THE TERM OF January 1, 2009 THROUGH DECEMBER 31, 2010, FOR A MAXIMUM OBLIGATION OF $229,213; AND 2) AUTHORIZING THE DIRECTOR OF PROBATION DEPARTMENT OR THE DIRECTOR'S DESIGNEE TO EXECUTE CONTRACT AMENDMENTS WHICH MODIFY THE COUNTY'S MAXIMUM FISCAL OBLIGATION BY NO MORE THAN $25,000 (IN AGGREGATE), AND/OR MODIFY THE CONTRACT TERM AND/OR SERVICES SO LONG AS THE MODIFIED TERM OR SERVICES IS/ARE WITHIN THE CURRENT OR REVISED FISCAL PROVISIONS.

 

WHEREAS, San Mateo County has recognized the need to provide substance abuse counseling support and services; and

 

WHEREAS, Pyramid Alternatives has been providing services to a similar population at Bridges; and

 

WHEREAS, both parties now wish to enter into an Agreement whereby Pyramid Alternatives shall provide substance abuse counseling, education, anger management, life-skills training, and supportive supervision to clients in the San Mateo County Adult Probation’s Bridges program for the period of January 1, 2009 through December 31, 2010, for a maximum obligation and $229,213; and

 

WHEREAS, this Board has been presented with the Agreement and has approved it as to both form and content and desires to enter into the Agreement:

 

NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY DETERMINED AND ORDERED that the President of this Board of Supervisors be and is hereby authorized and directed to execute said Agreement for and on behalf of the County of San Mateo, and the Clerk of this Board shall attest the President’s signature thereto; and

 

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Chief Probation Officer, of San Mateo County, or his/her designee, shall be authorized to execute Amendments and minor modifications not to exceed $25,000 and to make minor changes in the type of services and activities provided under the Agreement.
