    RESOLUTION: 1. APPROVING THE SCOPE OF WORK AND SPECIFICATIONS, IN CONFORMANCE WITH PREVAILING WAGE SCALE REQUIREMENTS, FOR BURLINGAME LONG TERM CARE FACILITY – CLEANING OF HVAC DUCTWORK (PROJECT NO. PF-020) 2. AUTHORIZING THE PUBLICATION OF A NOTICE TO CONTRACTORS TWICE IN A LOCAL NEWSPAPER. 3.  AUTHORIZING THE DIRECTOR OF PUBLIC WORKS TO CALL FOR BIDS AND TO SET THE BID OPENING DATE AS FEBRUARY 24, 2009, AT 2:30P.M. IN THE HALL OF JUSTICE, 400 COUNTY CENTER, REDWOOD CITY, CALIFORNIA.

RESOLVED, by the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Mateo, State of California, that

 

WHEREAS, scope of work and specifications have been prepared and approved by the Director of Public Works for the Burlingame Long Term Care Facility – Cleaning Of HVAC Ductwork, and said scope of work and specifications have been filed in the office of the Director of Public Works; and

 

WHEREAS, said specifications require that the contractors performing the work pay not less than the general prevailing rates of wages, as established by the Department of Industrial Relations, in the locality in which said work is to be performed for each type of workman needed to execute the contract.

 

    NOW THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY DETERMINED AND ORDERED that

The Scope of Work and Specifications dated December 30, 2008, for the aforesaid project, on file in the office of the Director of Public Works, are hereby approved and adopted as the scope of work and specifications to be adhered to in letting and performing the work under a contract for said improvements.

 

2.

Said Scope of Work and Specifications require that the contractors performing the work pay not less than the general prevailing rates of wages, as established by the Department of Industrial Relations, in the locality in which said work is to be performed for each type of workman needed to execute the contract.

 

3.

The Director of Public Works is authorized and directed to issue a call for bids and to set the bid opening date as February 24, 2009, at 2:30 p.m. in the Hall of Justice, 400 County Center, Redwood City, California. Said bids will be received by the Clerk of the Board of Supervisors and then transmitted to the County Manager’s Office in said Hall of Justice and be publicly opened and declared.

 

4.

The Department of Public Works is further directed to cause the Notice inviting sealed bids to be published for two times in the Independent Newsgroup, a newspaper printed and published in this County, and to obtain an affidavit of said publication, a copy of which shall be placed on file with the Clerk of the Board of Supervisors.
