RESOLUTION:

1.

AUTHORIZING THE PRESIDENT OF THE BOARD TO EXECUTE AN AGREEMENT WITH MOTOROLA INC. FOR INSTALLATION OF A P25 MASTER RADIO SITE, IN THE AMOUNT NOT-TO-EXCEED $1,966,453, FOR A THREE (3) YEAR TERM COMMENCING JANUARY 1, 2009 TO DECEMBER 31, 2011; AND

2.

AUTHORIZING THE SHERIFF OR HIS DESIGNEE TO EXECUTE AMENDMENTS AND MINOR MODIFICATIONS TO THIS AGREEMENT NOT TO EXCEED AN AGGREGATE OF $25,000, AND/OR MODIFY THE CONTRACT TERM AND/OR SERVICES SO LONG AS THE MODIFIED TERM OR SERVICES IS/ARE WITHIN THE CURRENT OR REVISED FISCAL PROVISIONS.

RESOLVED, by the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Mateo, State of California, that

WHEREAS, in May 2008, the County conducted a comprehensive Request for Proposals (RFP) process to identify and select a vendor to develop a P25 Master Site which will act as the foundation for expanding public safety interoperability between the County and neighboring counties and government agencies; and

WHEREAS, the only responder to the RFP was Motorola Inc. and it has been determined that Motorola has the capability of providing the needed services; and

WHEREAS, there has been presented to this Board of Supervisors for its consideration and acceptance an Agreement, reference to which is hereby made for further particulars, whereby Motorola Inc. shall provide systems integration and implementation services to deploy a fully functional P25 Master Radio Site; and

WHEREAS, the P25 Master Radio Site will provide a flexible interoperable communication offering for all agencies with the County, along with other Bay Area counties, cities, and state agencies; and

WHEREAS, both parties now wish to enter into an Agreement to provide equipment and installation of a P25 Master Site, in an amount not to exceed $1,966,453 and a term commencing on January 1, 2009 to December 31, 2011; and

WHEREAS, this Board has been presented with a form of such Agreement and has examined and approved same as to both form and content, and desires to enter into same:

NOW THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY DETERMINED AND ORDERED THAT THE:

1.

President of this Board of Supervisors be, and is hereby authorized to, execute the Agreement with Motorola Inc., for and on behalf of the County of San Mateo, and the Clerk of this Board of Supervisors shall attest the President’s signature thereto; and

2.

Sheriff or his designee is hereby authorized to execute amendments and minor modifications to this Agreement not to exceed an aggregate of $25,000, and/or modify the contract term and/or services so long as the modified term or services is/are within the current or revised fiscal provisions.
