RESOLUTION 1) AUTHORIZING THE DIRECTOR OF PUBLIC WORKS TO EXECUTE A GRANT AGREEMENT WITH THE CALIFORNIA DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION (DOT) FOR A MATCHING GRANT EQUAL TO TWO AND ONE-HALF PERCENT (2.5%) OF FEDERAL AVIATION ADMINISTRATION GRANT (AIP NO. 3-06-0097-12) FOR PHASE ONE OF THE PREPARATION OF AN ENVIRONMENTAL ASSESSMENT AT THE HALF MOON BAY AIRPORT; AND 2) AUTHORIZING THE DIRECTOR OF PUBLIC WORKS TO EXECUTE ANY OTHER DOCUMENTS ASSOCIATED WITH THE APPLICATION AND ACCEPTANCE OF SAID GRANT FUNDS FROM THE CALIFORNIA DOT.

RESOLVED, by the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Mateo, State of California, that

WHEREAS, this Board of Supervisors has authorized the acceptance of a Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) airport improvement grant (AIP No. 3-06-0097-12) for phase one of the preparation of an Environmental Assessment for future FAA grant funded safety, security and infrastructure improvements at the Half Moon Bay Airport; and

WHEREAS, the California Department of Transportation (DOT), pursuant to Public Utilities Code Section 21683.1, is authorized to provide matching grants that are limited to five percent of FAA grants, and that under this program the largest grant that can be obtained is two and one-half percent (2.5%) of FAA grant amounts; and

WHEREAS, the DOT requires a local agency, as a condition of receiving these matching grant funds, to adopt a resolution authorizing the submittal of an application and the execution of a grant agreement for the acceptance of said grant funds; and

WHEREAS, the Director of Public Works has recommended that a grant application be made to the DOT for matching funds to help finance the preparation of an Environmental Assessment for future FAA grant funded safety, security and infrastructure improvements at the Half Moon Bay Airport; and

WHEREAS, this Board has considered the recommendation of the Director of Public Works.

NOW THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY DETERMINED AND ORDERED that:

The Director of Public Works is authorized to execute a grant agreement with the California Department of Transportation for a matching grant equal to two and one-half percent (2.5%) of Federal Aviation Administration grant (AIP No. 3-06-0097-12) for phase one of the preparation of an Environmental Assessment at the Half Moon Bay Airport; and

The Director of Public Works is authorized to execute any other documents associated with the application and acceptance of said grant funds from the California Department of Transportation.
