RESOLUTION HONORING AND COMMENDING | ||||
FIRE CHIEF THOMAS REAVES FOSTER CITY FIRE DEPARTMENT | ||||

WHEREAS, the Public Health division focuses on primary prevention that occurs prior to the onset of a health problem, is charged with protecting the community in the event of a bio-terrorism attack and must plan and exercise its ability to provide prophylaxis to the entire community within forty-eight hours of an event; and | ||||
WHEREAS, Fire Chief THOMAS REAVES has been instrumental in providing leadership and direction in this effort and has shown innovation in creating a door-to-door mass prophylaxis solution; and | ||||
WHEREAS, Fire Chief THOMAS REAVES created a template for public health emergency response that has set a standard for performance for other counties; and | ||||
WHEREAS, Fire Chief THOMAS REAVES has set an example of intra-agency cooperation and coordination; and | ||||
WHEREAS, Fire Chief THOMAS REAVES has engaged the community, businesses and non-profit organizations in all hazards planning, preparation and response through CERT; and | ||||
WHEREAS, Fire Chief THOMAS REAVES is a valuable partner in public health emergency planning and response. | ||||
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Mateo, State of California, on February 3, 2009, hereby recognizes and sincerely expresses gratitude and appreciation for the leadership and work of Chief THOMAS REAVES, Foster City Fire Department. | ||||
