Recommended Revision to the Salary Ordinance

 

Recommendation

Adopt an ordinance amending the salary ordinance and accept the report on the total number of positions in the County.

The addition of one position and deletion of one position will assist the department in meeting their individual performance expectations by assuring that they have staff with the skills necessary to perform the work.

 

Background

Each year following budget deliberations your Board adopts the annual salary ordinance. The ordinance enacts the decisions made during budget hearings concerning the number of positions in the County service. Throughout the year, because of changes in the operating needs of departments, salary ordinance amendments are recommended that make adjustments to department staffing configurations.

 

Discussion

The salary ordinance changes herein represent:

the deletion of one position, and

the addition of one position.

 

These actions were approved for study by the County Manager's Office and the amendment has been reviewed by the County Counsel’s Office.

The specific actions are discussed in detail below.

 

ORGANIZATION 70000 HUMAN SERVICES

 

Action A:

Delete: One position of V235, Information Technology Analyst
Biweekly Salary: $3,032.00 – $3,790.40
Approximate Monthly Salary: $6,570.00 – $8,213.00

   

Action B:

Add: One position of V234, Senior Information Technology Analyst
Biweekly Salary: $3,092.80 – $3,866.40
Approximate Monthly Salary: $6,702.00 – $8,378.00

   

Explanation:

This is the deletion of one Information Technology (IT) Analyst and the addition of one Senior IT Analyst. This add/delete is an adjustment to a previous salary ordinance amendment that reclassified several IT classifications as part of a Countywide IT Study. This action represents a monthly salary and benefits cost of $226. There is no change in the total number of authorized positions.

These actions represent a monthly salary and benefits cost of $226.00 or an annual cost of $2,712.00.
