RESOLUTION

THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS

COUNTY OF SAN MATEO, STATE OF CALIFORNIA

RESOLUTION HONORING AND COMMENDING

DOROTHY CHOW

***************************************

WHEREAS, DOROTHY CHOW worked for the city and county of San Francisco in the social service department as a social worker for 20 years with demonstrated concern for helping both youth and adults; and

WHEREAS, DOROTHY CHOW showed commitment to her community through her involvement in the “Self Help for the Elderly” program and community policing, and contributions to Project Hope, the CAC, the TAC and Bay Meadows; and

WHEREAS, DOROTHY CHOW was very active in the North Central neighborhood and served as the Home Association of North Central San Mateo’s representative to the San Mateo United Homeowners Association; and

WHEREAS, DOROTHY CHOW served the San Mateo United Homeowners Association as President for seven years by working tirelessly and diligently to represent SMUHA before various commissions and city council, increasing active participation in SMUHA, and earning the descriptive title as the “glue that helped to hold United together;” and

WHEREAS, DOROTHY CHOW has been a constant voice for the people and example of civic leadership in her 30 years of community involvement, commitment and contribution;

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Mateo, State of California, hereby commends DOROTHY CHOW for her 30 years of leadership and community service to the city of San Mateo.
