SUBJECT:

Re-appointment to the Planning Commission
RECOMMENDATION:
Re-appoint Steve Dworetzky of South San Francisco to the San Mateo County Planning Commission. If approved, this re-appointment to the District 5 seat would be through January 5, 2013, Mr. Dworetzky’s second, four-year term.
BACKGROUND:
Mr. Dworetzky is a senior vice president at United American Bank, based in San Mateo. His extensive experiences in the financial sector include management positions at Transamerica, Merrill-Lynch, Wells Fargo and First National Bank of Northern California.
Mr. Dworetzky was first appointed to the District 5 seat on the Planning Commission in April 2004 by then-Sup. Mike Nevin, to complete a partial term that ended in January 2005. In December 2004, Mr. Dworetzky was re-appointed to his first, four-year term, which ended January 5, 2009. He has expressed an interest in continuing to serve on the commission.
I believe Mr. Dworetzky’s tremendous banking knowledge is an asset to the commission and to the Board of Supervisors, and I recommend his re-appointment
