RECOMMENDATION:
|
Approve the appointments of Walter Shjeflo and Craig Collins as alternates to the Assessment Appeals Board, each to a term expiring September 30, 2011.

BACKGROUND:
|
The candidates were interviewed by Supervisors Church and Gordon and they are recommending the Board of Supervisors to approve their applications.

DISCUSSION:
|
Walter Shjeflo is an attorney with over 30 years of practice in San Mateo County. His legal background is in real property, business and estate planning. He is currently the President of the Silicon Valley Bar Association and Chair of the Estate Planning Section of the San Mateo County Bar Association.

|
Craig Collins is an attorney and real estate broker. He has taught courses such as community property, legal ethics, business law, remedies, contracts and legal research at San Mateo Law School and at San Mateo Community College. He is a current member of the San Mateo County Bar Association and the San Mateo County Association of Realtors.
