RECOMMENDATION:
|
Adopt a resolution adopting plans and specifications, including conformance with prevailing wage scale requirements, and calling for sealed bids on Tuesday, May 5, 2009, at 2:30 p.m. for Maguire Correctional Facility Outdoor Recreation Deck Resurfacing, 300 Bradford Street, Redwood City, California (Project No. P9U03).

Adoption of the proposed resolution contributes to this commitment and goal by sustaining a major building system for the benefit of the individuals housed at this facility.

BACKGROUND:
|
An appropriation to apply new waterproof coating to two outdoor recreation decks at this facility is included in the 2008-2009 Capital Projects Budget.
|
|
DISCUSSION:
|
The proposed project will provide new deck coating and wall flashing at a 4th floor outdoor recreation area as well as a smaller 2nd floor outdoor recreation area. Both areas currently leak during seasonal rains.
|
|
The resolution has been approved as to form by County Counsel.
|
|
FISCAL IMPACT:
|
The estimated construction cost is $150,000. An appropriation was established in the Capital Projects Budget that is financed by the County General Fund.
