RECOMMENDATION:
|
Appoint Robert Marsh to the Agricultural Advisory Board representing the category of Farmer. The appointment would run for a term to conclude on June 30, 2013.

Goal(s): Civic engagement -- including voting, public service, charitable giving, volunteerism, and participation in public discussions of important issues -- is uniformly high among the diverse population of San Mateo County.

BACKGROUND:
|
Robert Marsh is a fourth generation farmer who has owned his own farm since 1978. Mr. Marsh has previously served on the Agriculture Advisory Commission and is very knowledgeable on all issues facing the farming community in San Mateo County. Among his many civic duties, Mr. Marsh has served as a member of the Half Moon Bay Volunteer Fire Department, served on the Purisima/San Gregorio Community Council and is currently on the San Mateo County Farm Bureau Board of Directors. Mr. Marsh’s dedication to the community and strong farming background will make him a successful member of the Agricultural Advisory Board.
