RESOLUTION HONORING AND COMMENDING | ||||

INEZ PAEPCKE San Mateo County 2009 Teacher of the Year | ||||

WHEREAS, INEZ PAEPCKE, teacher of computer applications at Menlo-Atherton High School, is San Mateo County’s Teacher of the Year for 2009; and | ||||
WHEREAS, INEZ PAEPCKE teaches computer applications in the Computer Academy and teaches German to advanced German students, and also serves technology coordinator at the school; and | ||||
WHEREAS, INEZ PAEPCKE earned Bachelor of Arts degrees in English and in Physical Education at Johannes Gutenberg Universitat, and obtained her Masters Degree in Secondary Education at Albert Ludwigs Universitat, and began her career teaching English and Physical Education at Gymnasium in Rastatt, Germany; and | ||||
WHEREAS, INEZ PAEPCKE came to California in 1983 and has taught in Palo Alto, South San Francisco, and, since 1998, at Menlo-Atherton High School in the Sequoia Union High School District, and was named Menlo-Atherton’s Innovative Teacher of the Year for 2007-2008; and | ||||
WHEREAS, INEZ PAEPCKE grew up as a German-speaking child in a U.S. school and returned to Germany at age 14 as an English speaker among Germans, and, as a result, believes that her biggest contribution as a teacher is to genuinely understand her students, especially those who do not fit a specific profile, and to give them the encouragement they need to do their best. | ||||
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Mateo, State of California, on April 18, 2009, joins the Burlingame Bodies, Ancient and Accepted Scottish Rite of Freemasonry, in honoring and commending INEZ PAEPCKE as the 2009 San Mateo County Teacher of the Year, and thanks her for her commitment and dedication to the education of our youth. | ||||
