SUBJECT:

San Mateo Medical Center, Ron Robinson Senior Care Center Expansion (Project No. P17Y1)

 

RECOMMENDATION:

Adopt a resolution adopting plans and specifications, determining prevailing wage scales, and calling for sealed proposals on Tuesday, June 2, 2009, at 2:30 p.m., for the expansion of the Ron Robinson Senior Care Center at the San Mateo Medical Center (Project No. P17Y1).

Your Board’s adoption of the proposed resolution will ensure accessible preventive healthcare for the vulnerable aging County population.

 

BACKGROUND:

San Mateo Medical Center Health Foundation has financed the expansion of the existing Ron Robinson Senior Care Center.

 

DISCUSSION:

San Mateo Medical Center’s Ron Robinson Senior Care Center is now at capacity for rooms, patient volume, and staffing. The proposed project would expand the Ron Robinson Senior Care Clinic by an additional 2,000 square feet into the space immediately adjacent to the currently occupied Clinic’s of EKG/EEG and Respiratory Therapy.

 

FISCAL IMPACT:

The work is estimated to cost between $500,000 and $1,000,000. This project is included in the Fiscal Year 2008-2009 Capital Projects Budget and is financed with a grant from the San Mateo County Health Foundation, San Mateo Medical Center.
