RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE INSTALLATION OF RESIDENTIAL SPEED CONTROL DEVICES (3 SPEED HUMPS) ON SPRING STREET IN NORTH FAIR OAKS, REDWOOD CITY AREA

RESOLVED, by the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Mateo, State of California, that

WHEREAS, this Board adopted the Residential Speed Control Device Program (Program) dated April 11, 2005; and

WHEREAS, the majority of property owners along Spring Street between 5^th Avenue and Bay Road signed a petition requesting the installation of speed control devices to help control the speed of traffic on their street; and

WHEREAS, the Department of Public Works, based on traffic surveys, has determined that Spring Street meets the criteria in the Program for the installation of speed humps; and

WHEREAS, the Director of Public Works has recommended that residential speed control devices be installed as noted herein; and

WHEREAS, this Board has reviewed and concurs in the recommendation of the Director of Public Works.

NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY DETERMINED AND ORDERED that the Director of Public Works is

1.

Authorized to proceed with the construction of speed humps along Spring Street (County Road No. 660A) between 5^th Avenue and Bay Road; and

2.

Directed to monitor the effectiveness of the speed humps and to evaluate any impacts that the installation of the speed humps may have on traffic on other County maintained roads in the immediate area.
