RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING 1) AN AGREEMENT WITH
ANGELICA TEXTILE SERVICES TO PROVIDE LINEN AND LAUNDRY
MANAGEMENT SERVICES FOR SAN MATEO MEDICAL CENTER, BURLINGAME LONG TERM CARE AND SAN MATEO COUNTY YOUTH SERVICES CENTER- HILLCREST FOR THE PERIOD FEBRUARY 1, 2009 THROUGH JANUARY 31, 2012 FOR A MAXIMUM AMOUNT PAYABLE NOT TO EXCEED $3,854,276, AND 2) AUTHORIZING THE CHIEF OF THE HEALTH SYSTEM OR DESIGNEE TO EXECUTE CONTRACT AMENDMENTS WHICH MODIFY THE COUNTY’S MAXIMUM FISCAL OBLIGATION BY NO MORE THAN $25,000 (IN AGGREGATE), AND/OR MODIFY THE CONTRACT TERM AND/OR SERVICES SO LONG AS THE MODIFIED TERM OR SERVICES IS/ARE WITHIN THE CURRENT OR REVISED FISCAL PROVISIONS

RESOLVED, by the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Mateo, State of California, that
|
|
WHEREAS, the County of San Mateo requires linen processing and management services for the San Mateo Medical Center (SMMC), Burlingame Long Term Care (BLTC) and the Youth Services Center (YSC); and
|
|
WHEREAS, on December 7, 2007, SMMC conducted a Request for Proposals for linen processing and management services; and
|
|
WHEREAS, West Coast Linen Services was awarded the contract as the vendor met all the requirements of the RFP and successfully passed the physical plant tour; and
|
|
|
WHEREAS, the term of the Agreement with West Coast was March 1, 2008 through February 28, 2011; and
|
|
WHEREAS, West Coast Linen declared bankruptcy in October 2008 and is no longer able to provide services; and
|
|
WHEREAS, because these services are critical to patient care, SMMC has negotiated an emergency contract with Angelica Textile Services which was the second vendor of choice for these services while a three year Agreement is being processed; and
|
|
WHEREAS, once your Board approves the three-year Agreement, it will supersede the Emergency Agreement; and
|
|
WHEREAS, there has been presented to this Board of Supervisors for its consideration and approval an Agreement, reference to which are hereby made for further particulars, whereby Angelica Textile Services shall provide laundry and linen services to SMMC, BLTC and YSC for the period from February 1, 2009 through January 31, 2012, for an amount not to exceed $3,854,276; and

WHEREAS, this Board has considered the Agreement and approved it as to both form and content and desires to enter into it.
|
|
NOW THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED that the President of this Board of Supervisors be and is hereby authorized and directed to execute said Agreement for and on behalf of the County of San Mateo, and the Clerk of this Board shall attest the President's signatures thereto.

|
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Chief of Health System or designee shall be authorized to execute contract amendments which modify the County's maximum fiscal obligation by no more than $25,000 (in aggregate), and/or modify the contract term and/or services so long as the modified term or services is/are within the current or revised fiscal provisions
