RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE PRESIDENT OF THE BOARD TO EXECUTE A MODIFICATION TO THE AGREEMENT WITH THE STATE DEPARTMENT OF MENTAL HEALTH FOR MENTAL HEALTH SERVICES ACT FUNDING, EXTENDING THE TERM FROM JULY 1, 2004 THROUGH JUNE 30, 2013, INCREASING TO THE MAXIMUM ALLOCATION TO $34,677,418

RESOLVED, by the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Mateo, State of California, that

WHEREAS, Behavioral Health and Recovery Services has submitted plans to the State Department of Mental Health for Community Services and Supports, Information Technology, Capital Facilities, and Prevention and Early Intervention services for Mental Health Services Act (MHSA) funding; and

WHEREAS, those plans have all been approved by the State Department of Mental Health; and

WHEREAS, on February 6, 2007, this Board of Supervisors approved an Agreement with the State of California Department of Mental Health for the provision of MHSA funding for the purpose of providing mental health services as specified in Community Services and Supports Three-Year Plan for the term March 1, 2006 through June 30, 2008, for an approved amount of $15,216,123; and

WHEREAS, on January 29, 2008, this Board of Supervisors approved a superseding Agreement with the State of California Department of Mental Health for the provision of MHSA funding for the purpose of providing mental health services as specified in Community Services and Supports Three-Year Plan for the term July 1, 2004 through June 30, 2008, for an approved amount of $17,760,871; and

WHEREAS, on October 7, 2008, this Board of Supervisors approved a superseding Agreement with the State of California Department of Mental Health for the provision of MHSA funding for the purpose of providing mental health services as specified in Community Services and Supports Three-Year Plan for the term July 1, 2004 through June 30, 2009, for an approved amount of $22,133,849; and

WHEREAS, there has been presented to this Board of Supervisors for its consideration and acceptance a superseding Agreement, reference to which is hereby made for further particulars, whereby the State of California Department of Mental Health will provide funding for Community Services and Supports, Information Technology, Capital Facilities and Prevention and Early Intervention for the modified term of July 1, 2004 through June 30, 2013, for a revised approved amount of $34,677,418; and

WHEREAS, this Board has been presented with the Agreement and has examined and approved it as to both form and content and desires to enter into the Agreement.

NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY DETERMINED AND ORDERED that the President of this Board of Supervisors be and is hereby authorized and directed to execute said Agreement for and on behalf of the County of San Mateo, and the Clerk of this Board shall attest the President’s signature thereto.
