RESOLUTION A) AUTHORIZING THE CHIEF INFORMATION OFFICER OR HIS DESIGNEE TO ENTER INTO AN ACCESS AGREEMENT WITH DEPARTMENT OF TECHNOLOGY SERVICES (DTS) TO ACQUIRE INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY SERVICES FROM THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA FOR THE TERM JULY 1, 2009, TO JUNE 30, 2010, IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $25,000 PER YEAR; B) AUTHORIZING THE CHIEF INFORMATION OFFICER OR HIS DESIGNEE TO EXECUTE AGREEMENT RENEWALS WHICH EXTEND THE TERM OF THE AGREEMENT FOR UP TO TWO ADDITIONAL YEARS AT A COST OF NO MORE THAN $25,000 PER YEAR FOR A TOTAL AGGREGATE TERM OF UP TO THREE YEARS AND MAXIMUM FISCAL OBLIGATION OF $75,000; AND C) AUTHORIZING THE CHIEF INFORMATION OFFICER OR HIS DESIGNEE TO EXECUTE AGREEMENT AMENDMENTS WHICH INCREASE THE COUNTY’S MAXIMUM FISCAL OBLIGATION BY NO MORE THAN $25,000 (IN AGGREGATE) AND/OR MODIFY THE CONTRACT TERM AND/OR SERVICES SO LONG AS THE MODIFIED TERM OR SERVICES IS/ARE WITHIN THE CURRENT OR REVISED FISCAL PROVISIONS.

RESOLVED, by the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Mateo, State of California, that

 

WHEREAS, many County departments access the Department of Motor Vehicles’ (DMV) records through the County’s mainframe, which is being retired in July 2009;

WHEREAS, the Department of Technology Services enables counties to cost-effectively access DMV records for a nominal fee;

 

WHEREAS, in preparation for the mainframe retirement, the County and the Department of Technology Services (DTS) wish to enter into an access Agreement, for DTS to provide Information Technology Services from the State for the period of July 1, 2009 to June 30, 2010, for a total obligation of up to $25,000; and

 

WHEREAS, this Board has considered the Agreement and approved the Chief Information Officer or his designee to enter into it.

 

NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY DETERMINED AND ORDERED that the Board of Supervisors authorizes the Chief Information Officer or his designee enter into said Agreement as is approved by the County Counsel for and on behalf of the County of San Mateo.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that signature authority is granted to the Chief Information Officer or his designee to execute Agreement renewals and other amendments which (1) extend the term of the Agreement for up to two additional years at a cost of no more than $25,000 per year for a total aggregate term of up to three years and maximum fiscal obligation of $75,000 and/or (2) modify the County’s maximum fiscal obligation by no more than an additional $25,000 (in aggregate, for a total possible fiscal obligation of $100,000) and/or modify the contract term and/or services so long as the modified term or services is/are within the current or revised fiscal provisions.
