BOARD OF SUPERVISORS, COUNTY OF SAN MATEO, STATE OF CALIFORNIA

RESOLUTION A) WAIVING THE REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL (RFP) PROCESS; B) AUTHORIZING THE PRESIDENT OF THE BOARD TO EXECUTE AN AGREEMENT WITH MICHAEL ARATOW, MD, FACEP FOR CONSULTING SERVICES FOR THE TERM OF MAY 25, 2009, TO APRIL 30, 2010, FOR A MAXIMUM OBLIGATION OF $160,232; AND C) AUTHORIZING THE CHIEF INFORMATION OFFICER OR HIS DESIGNEE TO EXECUTE CONTRACT AMENDMENTS WHICH MODIFIY THE COUNTY’S MAXIMUM FISCAL OBLIGATION BY NOR MORE THAN $25,000 (IN AGGREGATE) AND/OR MODIFY THE CONTRACT TERM AND/OR SERVICES SO LONG AS THE MODIFIED TERM OR SERVICES IS/ARE WITHIN THE CURRENT OR REVISED FISCAL PROVISIONS.

RESOLVED, by the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Mateo, State of California, that

 

WHEREAS, in 2007, Dr. Michael Aratow was selected by the Executive Management team at the San Mateo Medical Center and by the Information Services Department to be Chief Medical Information Officer (CMIO) for San Mateo Medical Center (SMMC) and has demonstrated an in-depth knowledge of the IT installations at the Health System;

 

WHEREAS, in light of the foregoing, this Board has determined that it is in the best interest of the County to waive the RFP process and hereby does so;

 

WHEREAS, the County and Dr. Michael Aratow now wish to enter into an Agreement to provide consulting services for the term of May 25, 2009, to April 30, 2010, for a total obligation of up to $160,232; and

 

WHEREAS, this Board has considered the Agreement and approved it as to both form and content and desires to enter into it.

 

NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY DETERMINED AND ORDERED that the Request for Proposals process is waived and that the President of this Board of Supervisors be and is hereby authorized and directed to execute said Agreement as is approved by the County Counsel for and on behalf of the County of San Mateo, and the Clerk of this Board shall attest the President’s signature thereto.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Chief Information Officer or his designee shall be authorized to execute contract amendments which modify the County’s maximum fiscal obligation by no more than $25,000 (in aggregate) and/or modify the contract term and/or services so long as the modified term or services is/are within the current or revised fiscal provisions.
